GAP Industries delivered sports lighting upgrade works in Toowoomba QLD at Toowoomba Sports Ground for the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The works upgraded sports lighting infrastructure for a public sporting facility in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region. GAP Industries delivered the works in partnership with Musco Lighting, replacing outdated field lighting infrastructure with a modern LED sports lighting system.
Toowoomba Sports Ground is home to the Toowoomba Clydesdales and supports local sport, community use and higher level competition. The lighting upgrade raised the average field lighting level from approximately 300 lux to 500 lux, giving the playing area stronger coverage and more consistent illumination.
Project Details
Electrical and Mechanical HVAC Works in Teneriffe
GAP Industries completed electrical and mechanical HVAC asset works across two nominated facility areas in Teneriffe.
The scope focused on mechanical HVAC works at Freedom BLD Ground and dehumidification works on the ground floor of the Nucleus Building. Both service areas related to indoor environmental control within existing building spaces.
Mechanical HVAC systems can affect comfort conditions, airflow, temperature management and asset performance. Dehumidification works help manage moisture levels and support more stable indoor conditions where humidity control is required.
Scope of Works Delivered
Mechanical HVAC Works for Freedom BLD Ground
GAP Industries delivered mechanical HVAC works for the Freedom BLD Ground area at Cochlear.
The service area was connected to building services performance within an existing facility environment. This required practical coordination around access, installed services, asset condition and the operational requirements of the nominated area.
This service area was valued at $129,360.49.
Ground Floor Dehumidification at the Nucleus Building
GAP Industries delivered ground floor dehumidification works at the Nucleus Building, 12 Helen Street, Teneriffe.
Dehumidification works support moisture control, condensation management and indoor environmental stability. For this project, the scope was focused on the nominated ground floor area of the Nucleus Building.
The value assigned to this service area was $128,610.25.
Electrical Support for HVAC Assets
The project included both electrical and mechanical HVAC works.
Mechanical HVAC and dehumidification assets require coordinated electrical support where equipment connects with building services. GAP Industries supported the electrical requirements associated with the nominated HVAC and dehumidification works at the Teneriffe facility.
Asset Management Coordination
The project was classified as Asset, with a focus on existing facility performance and building services support.
GAP Industries coordinated the works around nominated facility areas, installed services and mechanical asset requirements. This helped align the electrical and HVAC components of the project within an operating building environment.
Building Services Coordination
Electrical and mechanical HVAC works in established facilities require careful coordination between services, access requirements and building conditions.
For Cochlear, the works were delivered within existing building spaces rather than a new build environment. The Freedom BLD Ground works and Nucleus Building dehumidification scope both required attention to mechanical performance, humidity control and service integration.
This type of asset work benefits from clear planning, practical sequencing and documentation that supports future maintenance visibility.
Safety and Quality Controls
GAP Industries operates under ISO 9001 quality management processes, supporting planning, delivery, documentation and review across electrical and mechanical asset works.
For this project, those controls supported scope review, site coordination, safe work planning, service documentation and handover records for the nominated facility areas.
The works required a disciplined approach to building services activity in an existing commercial facility environment, where electrical support, mechanical HVAC assets and dehumidification requirements needed to be managed together.
Delivery Value for Cochlear
The completed works supported electrical and mechanical HVAC performance across nominated facility areas in Teneriffe.
The Freedom BLD Ground mechanical HVAC works contributed to building services support within that area. The Nucleus Building ground floor dehumidification works supported humidity control and indoor environmental stability at 12 Helen Street.
By delivering targeted HVAC, dehumidification and associated electrical support, GAP Industries helped maintain practical building services outcomes for Cochlear within a commercial facility environment in Southeast Queensland.
